题 目：Two Sides of Cryptography – Protection & Innovative Applications
主讲人：新加坡管理大学信息系统学院 邓慧杰 教授
讲座内容简介：Cryptographic algorithms and protocols can do many wonderful things, from encryption, secret sharing, to zero knowledge proof. Contrary to most people's perception, however, cryptography is invented not only to protect information systems, but also add value to existing applications. In this talk, I will show, by way of examples, how modern cryptographic techniques serve as an enabler for inventing innovative applications, such as systems for fair exchange of digital valuables between distrusted parties, systems for private information retrieval in online transactions, and systems for securing multimedia content.
主讲嘉宾介绍：邓慧杰(Robert H. Deng)教授是原新加坡国家科研局信息通信研究院首席科学家、现新加坡管理大学终身教授、信息系统学院研究中心主任、副院长。邓慧杰教授是著名的信息安全国际专家，他发表了6本学术专著，获得了26项国际专利，在《IEEE Transactions on Information Theory》、《IEEE Transactions on Communication》、《IEEE Transactions on Computer》、ACM CCS、IEEE S&P等权威国际期刊和重要国际会议发表了230多篇高水平学术论文。邓慧杰教授担任过上百次国际会议的程序委员会委员、程序委员会主席和大会主席，应邀在近30个国际会议上作特邀报告，目前担任《IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security》等国际期刊的副主编或编委。他获得过美国航天总署奖学金、新加坡国家科研局 Kent Ridge Digital研究院成就奖、新加坡管理大学李光耀优秀研究奖、亚太信息安全领袖成就奖等多项奖励。
