口腔预防医学是口腔医学专业的一门重要学科，它是研究人群中普遍存在的口腔疾病的发生规律并提供预防对策，保持个人与人群口腔健康的学科。本学科的教学工作是通过基础理论与基本知识和实践的教学过程，使学生树立口腔健康的新概念，树立社会群体预防、综合保健观念及临床实践中提供预防保健服务的思想，掌握人群口腔健康状况调查分析与评估的基本方法，以及社会人群口腔保健的基本方法，为口腔医学专业人才的培养与科研工作奠定基础。 在教学中，贯彻理论与实践相结合的原则，加强基础理论教学和基本技能训练。提倡启发式教学，充分调动学生学习的主动性和创造性，努力培养学生分析和解决问题的能力。
Course Description
Preventive Dentistry is a term that describes the modern movement in dentistry that aims to prevent the damaging effects of tooth decay and oral disease. The most exciting fact that these dental diseases are completely preventable in most people is well documented.The course convey scientific progress in the field of oral health and prevention of caries,periodontal diseases, oral mucosal diseases and oral cancer. It includes oral hygiene, oral epidemiology,oral health promotion and public health aspects as central topics of the scope.
