商务英语阅读 课程中文简介
本课程是针对已修完大学英语前三段的外招本科生而设计的一门实用性课程。它和“商务英语视听说”构成一个课程组合，是三套优化课程组合之一，学生须从中选取一个以完成“大学英语”第四阶段的学习。课程旨在培养学生在日趋全球化的职场中获得成功所必须的英语技能，通过各种综合性语言任务和考试训练来重点提高学生的阅读和写作技巧。课程较多借用了“剑桥商务英语考试”这一广受认同的国际性考试所确定的标准和考试大纲。课程包含大量各种题材的阅读训练，学生可借此来熟悉各种阅读材料和商务知识，同时学会写作各种常见的商务交流文本如便笺、备忘录、信函和报告等。课程教学注重互动性，通过陈述，讨论和提问来加深对各种话题的认识。
Course Description
Intermediate Business English is one of the follow-up courses for the non-mainland undergraduates who have just completed the first three bands of College English. It, together with the companion course of Business English: viewing, listening and speaking, forms one of the three optimized course packages. Students need to choose one of the packages in order to achieve the fourth band of College English.The course helps students develop English skills necessary to succeed in increasingly globalized workplaces. The emphasize is on the improvement of students’ reading and writing skills by involving them in a wide variety of integrated language tasks and exam practice. The course draws heavily on the standards and syllabus set by BEC, which is a widely recognized international examination that focuses on English in business-related situations. The course contains extensive reading practice, using authentic texts involving a variety of genres and business topics so that students can develop familiarity with different reading materials and business knowledge. Meanwhile the course is also designed to allow students to learn to write notes, memos, letters and reports which are common in business communication.The teaching mode is mainly based on interaction activities, in which teacher and students will take turns to play leading role in class. By means of presentation, discussion and questions, students will gain thorough understanding of certain topics and a comprehensive knowledge of the subject.
