美国文化（一） 课程中文简介
教学目标：本课程旨在通过原汁原味的阅读材料和视听材料为学生开户一扇了解美国的窗户。在介绍美国社会、政府、文化与教育的同时提高学生的语言能力。引导学生以批评的眼光看待美国社会与文化。教学要求：通过阅读和视听资料使学生加深对美国社会、美国文化所体现的精神、价值观等的了解和认识，帮助学生学习阅读范文的写作语言和技巧，学会阅读、分析、理解和欣赏阅读材料。通过阅读和视听帮助学生提高英语语言水平。
Course Description
This is a course for non English majors. The textbook we use is Rethinking America. This course presents the student-centred approach between language knowledge and language skills, so that the students not only learn about background information of the United States, but also learn how to use their knowledge in cultural interactive situations. In addition, critical thinking and learning strategies of the students can be developed and the students are encouraged to look beyond the passages in order to consider the broader implications of what they have read and to learn the most appropriate intercultural awareness in their personal requirements and circumstances.Unit 1 American DreamUnit 2 MoneyUnit 3 TraditionsUnit 4 PeopleUnit 5 Geography
