媒体英语视听说 课程中文简介
本课程是面向外招本科生的一门限选课，作为对外招生前期商务英语课程（1-3级）的一个拓展，以及《媒体英语》的配套课程。学会获取、理解、使用、评鉴传媒英语信息是当代大学生必备的能力之一。每个大学生都应具备对媒体信息进行理性的思考、过滤、甄别的传媒英语能力 , 它是高校大学生应具备的基本人文素养。本课程将注重提高学生在生活和商务情境的英语能力和媒体素养，通过电视、电影等媒体来直接了解世界各国的政治、经济、文化和社会发展动态的需要，本课程借助视听媒体来系统训练学生对各类外国电视媒体、纪录片和电影的理解能力，调动和发挥学生积极、健全的思维能力，培养辩证批判的媒体素养，以及训练独立表达自我观念的交际能力。内容包含新闻报道、名人传记纪录片、最新科普简介、经典英语电影或片段。课程的教学目的在于，要求学生能够看懂听懂原版英语电影、访谈、纪录片、新闻（如bbc、voa和cnn）等，并有针对的用英语表达自己的主体感受和批判观念；能听懂英语国家电台、电视台用较慢速度播送的新闻报道；能根据语境辨别说话人的态度和语气，理解大致的主要和关键内容，初步具备娴熟的听力策略，相对客观和公正的接受视角，基本具备比较意识和辩证观念的文化思维和媒体素养。
Course Description
Media English is a semi-optional course for those under-graduates from abroad, and it is both an extension of the Business English Courses (Band 1- 3) and a companion of the Course of Media English. This course emphasizes the student’s ability to perceive, understand, utilize and evaluate the information from various forms of English media. It aims to improve their English performance and media knowledge, learn to obtain and criticize the political, economic, cultural and social issues with the help of different media, e.g., news reports, celebrity documentaries, sciences channels, interviews, classic movies and etc, and in this way facilitates their ability to think independently and express critically. As a result, the student can obtain by themselves the English information from foreign media, such as BBC, VOA and CNN, and always with a critical awareness of culture as a construct and media as a discourse.
