脑是人类意识和智慧源泉，人类之所以成自然界的主宰就因为人类拥有独特的思维器官——脑。有关脑知识的重要性不言而喻，自古以来人们就脑好奇，而今有关脑科学已成为生命科学领域最重要和最为活跃的学科之一。那么脑是如何工作的？如何产生我们的思想的呢？脑科学的发展已逐渐揭开其神秘的面纱，可以让我们探索脑的奥秘。当代的大学生更应获得脑的知识，去了解和认识大脑，并能用所学到的知识去开发自已的大脑。本课程旨在介绍脑的结构、功能和疾病的基础知识，向学生普及脑的知识，如了解情绪、动机、睡眠和精神障碍等方面的知识。作为公选课适合对此感兴趣的同学选修。主要教学内容为：基础篇：（脑科学导论、脑的基本要素、神经元膜静息电位、动作电位、神经元之间的化学信号传递、人脑的进化和结构）专题篇：（感觉、运动、适应、需要和动机、睡眠与梦、情绪、学习与记忆）。

Brain is the source of human consciousness and wisdom.Due to the unique thinking organ, brain, the human being has become the king of the nature. So the knowledge about brain is of vital significance. From the ancient times man have been curious about brain, and now the brain science has turned into one of the most important and active research domain in life science. Perhaps you will ask how the brain works and how thoughts are produced. And you will also think about how we learn and memorize, and how thinking is brought about, especially innovative thinking.The mysterious veil of brain is gradually being uncoverred by the development of brain science, which enables us to go deeper into the brain secret.
