Course Description
Course DescriptionThis course is a computer course offered for non-computer science students specially. Through this course, students can know exactly the basic concepts of computer network and application methods, and through these basic concepts to understand the principle of network applications fulfilled in our daily life, and use the computer networks well to work with their own learned professional areas. The main focus of this course is the breadth of computer network knowledge rather than the depth of it. The teaching aim for this course is to present the basic principles of computer networks and the latest technology and applications in the most plain and understandable way, especially discarding the complex mathematical formulas. As long as learners have the basic computer knowledge (they have learned the course of “Fundamentals of Computers”), they can accurately and easily grasp the basic principles of computer networks. Non-computer science students can well adapt to the evolutions and developments of computer network technology, and utilize it well through the careful study of this course.Course Features(1)The teaching aim for this course is “Basic, Broad, New, and Easy”.“Basic” refers to the basic principles of computer network which have long-term vitality； “Broad” refers to the breadth of computer network knowledge； “New” refers to the lasted knowledge for computer networks； and “Easy” refers to explain the basic principles of computer network in the easiest way.(2)The teaching method is: Theoretical explanation + Network simulation experiments + Networking application case analysis.Target Students Non-computer science students having learned the course of“Fundamentals of Computers”
